The Madhuban (मधुबन)  series, is a 9 part series, wherein I propose whimsical landscapes that offer circular windows of hope, positivity, beauty and joy. I anchor to the central idea of the ‘Madhuban’, which literally translates to a garden of flowers, wherein I fill each realm with elements that sustain life – the sun, the moon, the stars, divine fruit and flora (i.e. pomegranates), water, brimming with vibrant colours and pattern. From the central idea, to the selection of symbolic elements at the centre of each circular realm, I have attempted to create little Madhuban’s of wellness and wholeness, with effort, labour and love. When all the aspects of wellness (be it spiritual, emotional and relational), are harmoniously integrated, the world and those within it, we flourish.

In ‘Circular Stories’ I anchor to mythic narratives of churning, creation and quest, at the centre of each painting. In the Madhuban series, it is simply the garden, as a metaphor for the garden of our lives.
