‘Clouds Reverie’ is a contemporary and personal take on the "Ragamala" series; which is a traditional Indian art form that illustrates the emotional expressions of a Nayak and Nayaka associated with various ragas (melodic frameworks used in Indian classical music). Each raga is linked to specific moods, times of the day, and seasons. My use of a recurring Cloud motif, representing its journey through time, season, context and emotions, explores the fleeting nature of our solo journey through life, in all its ebbs and flows. I’ve used a grey-indigo to capture the silence and solitude of the night time light of the soulful raga Deepak, and a popping sunshine yellow to capture the abundance of Raga Hindol. As the cloud progresses through to evening, monsoon and a night sky, I create a mood with colours and botanicals to resonate with poignant notes of ragas like Yaman and Bhairav.

The overall essence of the series invites viewers to experience the ebb and flow of emotions—joy in the gentle rain, longing in the overcast skies, silence of the night, and culmination in the energetic bursts of botanicals. This sensory experience reflects the depth and breadth of Indian classical music as it relates to the natural world. Cloud Reverie is imagined not only as a visual spectacle but also as an evocative exploration of how music, emotion, and nature intertwine.
